Tripp
Mobile companion app design

How might we encourage people to build a mental health practice during their workday?

Tripp is a health technology company that develops digital experiences aimed at enhancing mood and mindfulness. Their primary product is a virtual reality (VR) experience designed to support meditation and mental well-being.
Role
Mobile UI/UX
What are we solving for?
Tripp needed a mobile app to complement its VR meditation product. The app’s primary goals were:
Encouraging users to meet their weekly meditation goals.
Notifying users about new VR experiences.
Providing features that enhance the overall mindfulness experience.
Process
I collaborated closely with the Tripp team and followed these key steps:
1. User Research & Insights:
• Conducted research to understand user expectations for a mindfulness-supporting app.
• Identified the need for tools to track mood, personalize experiences, and foster community interaction.
2. Wireframes & Prototyping:
• Created wireframes to outline key features like mood tracking, content personalization, and social interactions.
• Iterated on prototypes based on feedback from stakeholders and users.
3. UI Design:
• Designed an intuitive and visually calming interface aligned with Tripp’s branding.
• Integrated features that mirrored the VR experience, creating a unified ecosystem.
4. Integration with VR Experience:
• Ensured seamless interaction between the mobile app and VR platform, enabling cross-platform functionality.
Results
The mobile app successfully extended the Tripp VR experience, offering features like:
Mood Tracking
Users could log and monitor their mood trends over time.
Content Personalization
Users could upload personal images, creating unique, tailored VR experiences.
Social Connection
Introduced “Tribe” features for viewing public profiles and appreciating virtual gifts from others.
Engagement Features
